Originally from Romania. I started playing tennis 5 days before I turned 11. By the time I was 14 I was a top 20 junior in my age division in Romania, just a few spots behind players like Wimbledon champion Horia Tecau, Wimbledon and Roland Garros semifinalist Florin Mergea, and former top 100 player Adrian Ungur.
I came to the U.S. at 19 years old and played college tennis division 1 for Nicholls State University for 4 years.
Currently 31 years young and for the past 6 years I have been training and competing at the professional futures level. I have the constant opportunity to practice, observe, chat and learn from, and be friends with many great players that are on the professional tour.
I am currently playing my best tennis at a high pro level and living my dream and passion to become the best tennis player that I can be.
Magin, 27, helped us during our previous trip in Colombia where three players travelled with us to play ITF futures. Magin played for the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) during his college days and, before that, was a top 3 player in COSAT (South American Tennis Federation). During his time as a top-ranked player in Colombia and South America, Magin trained at the Federacio Catalana Tennis Academy in Barcelona, Spain. There, he finished in the top 10 at the South American Tennis Championships in 2004 (2nd) and 2006 (6th). He also held the No. 1 singles spot in Colombia at the 12, 14 and 16 age groups and was a prominent member of the Colombian National Team in '04 and '06. Magin will be working under the guidance of our High Performance Director/Coach, Yohann Nograbat.
Originally from southern France where I picked up at tennis racquet at the age of 5 and fell in love with the game. At the age of 15, I integrated into the Southern National Training Center which led me to a top 20 junior player ranking of France. Upon completion of High School, I was recruited into the D1 tennis team of Illinois State University, holding the #1 singles and doubles position throughout my college career. After competing for four years, I held the Assistant Coach position for the Mens Tennis team at ISU before deciding to go back to the next generation of juniors who would become D1 tennis players and touring pros. During my career as a Tennis Director of High Performance I have developed top 14's,16's, and 18's boys in the country, while simultaneously spending time on tour coaching at the pro level.
